The Copyright Claims Board — What We Know So Far | Copyright Alliance

The Copyright Alliance – in partnership with 15 Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (VLA) organizations across the U.S. – hosted a Copyright Claims Board (CCB) webinar, titled What We Know About the CCB So Far. The event speakers took an in-depth look at how things are working with the CCB seven months after its launch by the U.S. Copyright Office. There have been interesting developments and challenges that may help guide prospective CCB claimants and respondents and other interested parties regarding this new copyright small claims tribunal. 

Speakers include Maya Burchette, Attorney-Advisor for the CCB; Thomas Maddrey, Chief Legal Officer & Head of National Content and Education for the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP); and Terrica Carrington, Vice President of Legal Policy and Copyright Counsel at the Copyright Alliance.

The Copyright Alliance, in collaboration with the U.S. Copyright Office, the Copyright Society, the Global Innovation Policy Center (GIPC), the U.S. Intellectual Property Alliance, and 12 Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (VLA) organizations across the country, hosted a World Intellectual Property Day (WIPD) 2023 event titled Women Trailblazers Creating Success Through Copyright on April 26, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET. This virtual panel is in keeping with the World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) 2023 theme, Women and IP: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity.
